Healthy forests, zero burning, prosperous economy: Can Indonesia have it all?

Indonesian forests have historically been ravaged by agribusiness interests, but in recent years, a combination of increased NGO scrutiny, consumer pressure and investor expectations is forcing companies to develop more responsible business models. But are their zero-deforestation commitments and multimillion dollar conservation efforts enough to break the link between profit and deforestation?

I visited Indonesia’s largest pulp and paper companies, and interviewed government and civil society leaders to find out.
